The sportsbook is one of several scheduled to open across the state in the wake of Iowa legalizing sports betting.

FanDuel announced:

"Our brand new FanDuel Sportsbook offers spreads, single bets, over/unders, parlays, and more. Whatever the bet, you'll probably find it. But there's only one place you'll find FanDuel - in Diamond Jo Casino."

FanDuel will likely be among the first sportsbooks to release a mobile app.  It is not immediately known whether any sportsbook will offer their app on iPhone devices following Apple's new policy on gambling that goes into effect September 5.  In-person registration at any of the state casinos that offer sports betting will be required in order to bet on the app.

Local bookies and Pay Per Head companies are still expected to thrive throughout the state as Iowa sportsbooks will not extend credit and require full submission of personal information.
