Samardzija hasn't pitched more than five innings in any of his last three starts after allowing three runs, five hits and three walks with five strikeouts in four frames of San Francisco's 5-4 loss to Cincinnati on Saturday. The 34-year-old Indiana native has received no-decisions in five of his eight starts this season with the Giants winning three of those five games. Peralta is 1-for-15 with a solo home run and five strikeouts against Samardzija, who is 3-4 with a 4.12 ERA in 17 games (12 starts) versus the Diamondbacks.

Kelly suffered his second straight loss after yielding three runs and eight hits while striking out five over seven innings of a 6-4 loss to Atlanta on Friday. It was the fourth quality start in eight turns this season for the 30-year-old Arizona native, who has permitted eight home runs among 49 hits in 46 innings. Kelly is 1-2 with a 3.20 ERA in four home starts compared to 2-2 and 6.53 on the road.
