Rodriguez made one start against Chicago last season and struck out 12 batters over 5 2/3 frames while allowing one run en route to victory.

Banuelos is trying to secure a spot in the rotation after beginning the season in a long-relief role and posted his first win as a starter after holding Baltimore to two runs and five hits in 5 2/3 innings on Monday. The 28-year-old is 1-0 with a 1.86 ERA in two turns, registering 10 strikeouts over 9 2/3 frames. Banuelos is making his first career appearance against Boston but is 2-0 with a 2.40 ERA in four games - one start - at home.
