While you can currently bet sports online from any number of offshore sportsbooks in the state of Pennsylvania, licensed state-based sportsbooks are scheduled to go online the first week in May.

Since the US Supreme Court overturned a law banning sports wagering nationally except in a handful of states like Nevada, mobile and online gambling has been met with mixed results.
In New Jersey, the newly launched sector has realized great success. In West Virginia, one of the casinos is already embroiled in a lawsuit with its sportsbook provider.
PGCB spokesman Doug Harbach told PennLive this week.
“I really believe that within the next two to three weeks, we will see the first of the sports wagering internet sites go up for testing,” Harbach told PennLive. “Assuming no major glitches, the sites should be given the green light from there.”
Customers placing bets must be within the state's borders and prove they are 21 years or older.
A number of sportsbook partners are expected to launch apps over the next few months leading into the 2019 NFL and College Football season.
