5Dimes Tony: What Happened to His Body?

Gambling911.com can confirm that as of Wednesday evening, no coroner in the San Jose, Costa Rica area has been in receipt of Sean "Tony" Creighton's body, or at least that is what they are telling those who are inquiring.  Creighton, of Bridgeport, West Virginia, was reported missing and presumed kidnapped on September 24.

The Costa Rica Star reported Saturday that the 43-year-old founder of 5Dimes Sportsbook had been found dead.

From the Star's Saturday report:

Today Creighton’s body was found, and as per our sources the strong suspicion is that he was a victim of a kidnap- for- hire scheme hatched by someone very close to him. Cause of death is yet to be established. Creighton’s wife allegedly had the ransom money wired to a family member of hers, reportedly the lesser $750,000 request.  The OIJ will be investigating further, and report their conclusions in the coming week.

That media outlet has suddenly gone quiet in light of police and those closest to Creighton refusing to offer any further information.

"Nobody is talking," our source reveals. "Everyone is suddenly so evasive."

The Star had previously broken news that a crashed vehicle belonging to Creighton was found some distance from the alleged kidnapping location.  Police refused to elaborate further as to whether that Porsche SUV did in fact belong to "Tony" despite its rarity in Costa Rica, let alone one that shows up damaged and apparently unclaimed.

Meanwhile, family and friends of Creighton's back in the US have reached out to various media outlets.  To date, ESPN is the only mainstream news outlet that has reported on his disappearance, without mention of Creighton by name or the book he operated.

"I'm not willing to believe he is dead until the police verify the body found was his," a former friend said of Creighton.  "I can see him showing up at the office tomorrow announcing he's back as if nothing ever happened.  Wishful thinking I suppose."

The lack of further clarification beyond the Star report is providing some glimmer of hope but a Gambling911.com source cautioned that "The OIJ has placed a gag order on everyone it seems."

He added: "They could be getting closer to finding out who is responsible and don't want further clues revealed to tip off those responsible."
