The Houston Astros are by far the biggest exposure of the day in Major League Baseball with a larger than usual Monday slate due to the Memorial Day holiday.

The Astros were coming in at around -128, making the Yankees a rare home underdog at +118.

The Yankees won the last three meetings between these two teams, all on the road, while the home team won the previous seven.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Astros RH Justin Verlander (6-2, 1.08 ERA) vs. Yankees RH Domingo German (0-2, 5.59)

Verlander is only 2-2 in his five starts this month despite allowing a total of four runs (three earned) in that span, but he won his second straight by limiting San Francisco to one run on three hits in six innings on Wednesday.  He is 1-4 with a 4.38 ERA at the new Yankee Stadium.

German has struggled since a brilliant performance in his first career start on May 6, when he did not allow a hit and struck out nine against Cleveland.  He worked four scoreless innings in Houston May 1.

Baseball News

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
