Bookie Beat Down May 20 - Philadelphia Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies are currently one of the hottest teams in Major League Baseball, winning eight of their last ten outings coming into Sunday.  They were close to capturing the lead in the NL East with Atlanta stumbling against Miami and holding a half game lead.  The Phillies and Braves meet for their series starting Monday.

UPCOMING SERIES

Philadelphia area bookmakers may have a chance to regroup here as Atlanta leads 10-4 in the past ten head-to-heads, this includes winning three of the last four.  Atlanta is also 13-3 in their last 16 road games.

In Game One, the Phillies are a -118 favorite despite the Braves being just 3-13 in Mike Foltynewicz’s last 16 starts.  The Phillies, meanwhile, are 13-3 in Nick Pivetta’s last 16 starts.

Philadelphia currently has the second best record in all of Baseball (16-6).

WHY THE PHILLIES HAVE BEEN SO GOOD

From PhillyVoice:

They have an early Cy Young candidate in Aaron Nola and an MVP candidate in Odubel Herrera, whose on-base streak is rapidly approaching 50 games. Carlos Santana is just starting to turn it on and first-year manager Gabe Kapler is no longer the punchline.

The closing pitching situation is good as well.

On Saturday, 23-year-old reliever Seranthony Dominguez picked up a six-out save – the first save of his young career – in his first opportunity. In six appearances (6.2 IP) this season, the hard-throwing righty has struck out seven batters without surrendering a single hit or walk (although he did hit one batter, his only baserunner allowed).

Something else to consider: The Phillies are the only team to have three different batters in the top 15 of NL OBP leaders.

WHY PHILADELPHIA AREA BOOKIES NEED A PPH

Bookmakers in the Philadelphia region can't just be hoping for an implosion of the Phillies, they need a Pay Per Head that offers loss leaders like LIVE IN-PLAY WAGERING, dozens of prop bets, and an online casino.  Such advances in sportsbook software result in reduced losses and, in some cases, substantial profit potential.

Choosing a sportsbook shouldn't be based solely on the size of the welcome bonus or the most eye-catching odds. After all, there's one factor that always makes the biggest difference: trust.
