Frances McDormand is another big favorite to win at the 2018 Oscars. She is priced at -1500 now, up from -1200, meaning you would need to bet $150 just to win $10. That $150 will be refunded just as long as she wins.
In Three Billboards, McDormand plays a mother who rents three billboards to call attention to her daughter's unsolved murder.
The film comes at a time when activism is reaching an all-time high. Three Billboards is also a co-favorite to win for Best Picture along with The Shape of Water.
‘I want to say that I appreciate a well-organised act of civil disobedience, and I am thrilled that activists all over the world have been inspired by the set decoration of the Three Billboards in Martin’s film,’ the actress said in reference to the film's creator, Martin McDonagh while delivering a rousing speech at this year's Baftas ceremony. ‘And [who] have taken to the streets, and let it be a part of the positive public discourse that’s happening.’
‘And I want thank Blueprint Productions and FilmFour and Fox Searchlight for carefully shepherding Martin’s films, Guillermo’s [Del Toro] films, because not only are they entertaining, they encourage a longer and broader cultural conversation.’
While McDormand may be a pricey pick, there are other Oscars categories that are more competitively priced and with a much lower stake required found here under ENTERTAINMENT when you click on SPORTS.
