Paddy Power and Papa Loves Mambo Under Scrutiny

A security job failing to keep a property secure because he is concentrating too hard on placing that bet?  That’s gonna likely get you fired but, in the case of Paddy Power, it’s going to get you two complaints and scrutiny by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

From OnlineCasino.co.uk:

Following two complaints, the ASA was prompted to review the betting operator’s advert featuring a security guard singing Papa Loves Mambo while betting on Paddy Power’s mobile casino app.

At one point in the short clip, the security guard turns away from his computer screen and looks at his phone before placing a bet.

In its defense, Paddy Power claimed the man was on break.

The Irish-based firm has previously come under fire for ads that depict such men becoming more sexually virulent by winning at gambling.  The company has also come under fire for featuring an advertisement of featuring South African paraplegic runner Oscar Pistorius’ during his murder trial with the caption “Will He Walk”.
