Bookies Worst Nightmare Becomes a Reality as Eagles, Patriots, Jaguars All Cover

The Jacksonville Jaguars managed to beat and cover the spread against Cleveland earlier in the day Sunday.  The New England Patriots promptly followed suit in Oakland while the granddaddy of wagered on sides this week, the Philadelphia Eagles, destroyed their arch rival Dallas on the road.

“This one hurt but we will survive,” one bookmaker relayed to Gambling911.com early Monday morning following rare beat down.

Throughout the course of this past week, both Philadelphia and New England held onto over 80% of the betting action in their respective games.  Jacksonville began seeing heavy one-sided action around 70% by week’s end.

Detroit was another heavily wagered on side that managed to spare bookies further pain by pushing.  Few, if any, raised the number above -3.

Prior to the Eagles-Cowboys game, BetOnline oddsmaker extraordinaire Dave Mason issued this ominous warning via Twitter:

Good lord are we getting crushed today and now we have the biggest sweat of them all. 84% of the cash on the Eagles at the Cowboys (+5.5).

And they continued to get crushed.
