Online Sports Betting in Washington, Illegal as a Third Time DUI

Washington State is the only state where sports betting is considered a Class C felony, all in a sad effort to please the Tribal casino operators.

What a damn shame!

As we write this, the pride and joy of Washington, Gonzaga, is preparing to win its first NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship following a one-loss regular season.

It should be noted that there are still a few dozen online sportsbooks willing to accept bets from residents of Washington.  The majority do not, however, and this has resulted in a higher demand for local bookies.

And the increase in demand, coupled with technological advances in the world of sports betting, require that these bookies access the services of a reputable Pay Per Head or sportsbook solutions company.

While the Washington State-inclusive online sports betting law has been in effect for the past couple of years now, there is not a single documented case of anyone being charged in violation of said prohibition.

A Class C felony, in case you were wondering, is akin to a multiple drunk driving offense, sale of illegal narcotics or even a charge of child molestation.

Keep in mind that this is the same state that has legalized marijuana.

It’s also the same state that makes unlawful to walk around in public if he or she has the common cold.
