Manchester By The Sea Oscar Odds – 2017 Academy Awards

Manchester By The Sea is a 31-1 long shot to win Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards.  The value in betting this film comes from the Best Actor category where Casey Affleck is a -130 favorite competing with Denzel Washington (Fences) at EVEN odds.  There are some more obscure categories one might wish to bet on Manchester By The Sea to win the 2017 Oscar.

Synopsis Lee Chandler is a brooding, irritable loner who works as a handyman for a Boston apartment block. One damp winter day he gets a call summoning him to his hometown, north of the city. His brother's heart has given out suddenly, and he's been named guardian to his 16-year-old nephew. As if losing his only sibling and doubts about raising a teenager weren't enough, his return to the past re-opens an unspeakable tragedy.

AVAILABLE BETS FOR RECREATIONAL GAMBLERS

Best Original Screenplay (Writing) – Manchester By The Sea would require only an $18 bet to win $10.  The $18 is refunded along with the $10 profit.  Bet $36, you profit $20, and so on.  La La Land is the favorite in this category though.

AVAILABLE BETS FOR PROFESSIONAL GAMBLERS

Best Actress – Emma Stone is a “lock” to win but priced at -1100 she’s require a $110 bet to win $10 or $220 bet to win $20 and so on.  It’s a good way to make some easy cash if you have the money to risk (not recommended for casual bettors).
