Sportsbooks Get Off to Dismal Start for Week 7 NFL

The sportsbooks endured a double whammy Thursday night with Green Bay’s big win over Chicago.

Not only did the Packers easily cover the 7 to 9 point spread with around 70 percent of the public backing, they were seeing 90 percent of the money line action for an outright win.

“It was really bad,” says Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.  “Look for the books to compensate this weekend by offering strong opinions on key games.”

Two sides that were getting pounded early included the Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots, both among the favorites to win Super Bowl 51.

Green Bay had been among the top three favorites entering the season and now appear to be in the process of regrouping after a sluggish start.  The Packers record now stands at 4-2.
