Odds to Win the AFC East Division 2016 – New York Jets

The New York Jets odds of winning the AFC East division in 2016 were set at +550 for a potential payout of $550 on every $100 bet.

The Jets have starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick after some initial douts and Matt Forte will certainly add something special that could get the Jets into the Playoffs and – with some key players out in New England early on – quite possibly an AFC East title.

“I actually think he’s better now this year,” wide receiver Brandon Marshall said of Fitzpatrick, who helped guide the Jets to a winning season in 2016 . “He’s throwing the ball much better. More velocity. He’s throwing it deeper. Seems comfortable back there. He’s looking really good right now. He’s impressive.”

Meanwhile, ESPN.com’s Rich Cimini suggests that Forte could prove to be the difference maker for the Jets.

Not only to do they expect him to replace leading rusher Chris Ivory, who ran for 1,070 yards, but they plan to make Forte a major factor in the passing game.

They lose a physical element without Ivory, a punishing between-the-tackles runner, but they gain versatility. In chess terms, Forte is like a rook or bishop because he can move quickly around the board. In theory, it should make the offense more unpredictable.

"He’s almost receiver-like with some of the stuff he can do out there," quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick said.

DR Congo has 1 point and likely needs a win to have a realistic shot at advancing as a third-place team. Uzbekistan has 0 points and must win to stay alive. A draw probably eliminates Uzbekistan and likely does very little for DR Congo.
