With Daily Fantasy Sports behemoths DraftKings and FanDuel pushing for steep state licensing fees, smaller DFS sites the likes of Statzup.com.

During last week’s closing panel of the Daily Fantasy Sports Expo in Miami Beach, moderated by Gambling911.com’s founder Chris Costigan, Statzup CFO Tamas Varga said sites like DraftKings and FanDuel help his own company.

“They come in and play at DraftKings or FanDuel then come play with us and like us more,” he said.

That’s because those two sites engage in gorilla marketing that drive folks into the DFS sector.  Statzup.com does not require a deposit in order to play.

Varga, who comes to us from Budapest, Hungary, tells Gambling911.com his company has been thriving over the past few months and continues to accept players from most US states.  Statzup specializes in Fantasy Soccer but will soon be delving into the world of eSports Fantasy.

Varga also claims the biggest emerging DFS markets outside the US are Brazil followed by – big surprise here – Egypt

“There is no regulation (in Egypt) and they love to gamble,” Varga said.
