San Jose, Costa Rica – November 19, 2015 – Forget about sleeping during the day after Thanksgiving. Poker players in the United States are going to want to practice their bluffing skills all day long in preparation for the OSS V. Americas Cardroom today announced the return of its Online Super Series. The fifth installment of the online tournament series features a $1 million Main Event, a total of 76 tournaments, and over $2.6 million in guarantees.
“Every time we host an Online Super Series, we announce that it’s our biggest one yet — and this time is no different,” stated Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. “We're heading into the holidays by throwing down $2.6 million in guaranteed prize money over 75 massive events. This will be epic."
The 10-day tournament series kicks off on November 27th, the day after Thanksgiving, with over $60,000 in prize money guaranteed on the first day. It continues with an unprecedented $500,000 guaranteed tournament on Sunday, November 29th and is followed by a full week of big tournament action. Available tournament formats include knockouts, re-entries, re-buys, and add-ons.
The OSS V culminates with a $1,000,000 GTD Million Dollar Sunday event on December 6th, with $200,000 guaranteed for first place. Americas Cardroom has hosted multiple $1 million guaranteed events to great success, including several in September and October. The fall tournaments featured significant overlays, meaning players had the chance to conquer a large tournament with a smaller-than-normal field.
While the OSS V features big guaranteed tournaments, the 10-day schedule is packed with small buy-in events, including many that run for $3 and under. What’s more, Americas Cardroom is running qualifiers to help players get into the big buy-in events for pennies on the dollar.
