College Athletes Found Playing on DraftKings, FanDuel to Lose One Year Eligibili

In a shocking turn of events Tuesday it was revealed that the NCAA plans to penalize any college athlete found playing on Daily Fantasy Sports sites like DraftKings and FanDuel.

Athletic Director for Mississippi State, Scott Strickland, tweeted:

… any athlete found to be gambling on college sports (includes daily fantasy such as Draft Kings) automatically loses a year of eligibility.

Strickland was simply reiterating the new policy announced Tuesday by NCAA vice president for regulatory affairs Oliver Luck.

To date, however, the majority of Daily Fantasy Sports sites have shied away from offering contests on College games.

Just yesterday, ESPN announced it would stop pushing betting references and alerts during its College Football programs.
