Rough Start for Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens have the toughest schedule to open the season of any team in the league as they play five of their first seven on the road. They have to play four West Coast games and they play at Pittsburgh on a short week. "Our enemies are looking very favorably upon our challenges and they're hoping our challenges will bring us down," head coach John Harbaugh said, "We have to make sure that doesn't happen." Baltimore is 27-29 on the road under Harbaugh. "It's challenging, certainly," Harbaugh added. "But the whole league is challenging. I don't care where you go or when you play.”

Broncos Looking to Run

The Broncos have a future Hall of Fame quarterback in Peyton Manning but they are likely to be a run-first team this season. Gary Kubiak is a coach that wants to run the ball. Last season as Baltimore’s offensive coordinator he had Justin Forsett rush for 1,256 yards which was 647 more yards than he had rushed for in any previous season in his career. The Broncos have C.J. Anderson who is a better back than Forsett and defenses still respect Manning so the Broncos should be able to run the ball effectively all season.

Game Notes

The Ravens are 8-3-1 ATS in the last 12 meetings in this series. The Broncos will be without safety T.J. Ward, who was suspended for the first game of the season. The Ravens will be missing running back Lorenzo Taliaferro who will miss the first few weeks with an MCL injury. The Ravens are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Ravens are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games in Week 1. The Under is 4-1-1 in the Ravens last 6 games overall. The Over is 5-2-1 in the Ravens last 8 road games. The Over is 5-2 in the Broncos last 7 home games. The Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.
