Convicted killer Joran van der Sloot has reportedly been stabbed in a Lima, Peru prison and is seriously injured.

The 27-year-old Van der Sloot is serving a 28-year sentence for the murder of a local girl he met at a Lima casino in 2010.  At the time, van der Sloot was attending the Latin American Poker Tour.  He was previously a suspect in the 2005 disappearance of an Alabama High School graduate who had been vacationing in Aruba.

The Dutchman’s wife claims Joran was stabbed twice in the shoulder and waist and that she smuggled out a blood-stained shirt as evidence of the attack.

“The wounds are at least two inches deep, “ van der Sloot’s attorney Maximo Altez.

He was found bleeding and groaning in pain after fellow prisoners inside the notorious Challapalca prison attacked him, according to reports.  That prison’s director has denied the claims.

Van der Sloot has previously written to Congress complaining of his treatment: ‘At night the temperature can reach -20oC, there is no water, no electricity, no yard, and we are locked up 24 hours a day.
‘There is no communication with our family and they attack us psychologically as well as physically.’
They have destroyed all our shoes, and at all hours of the night they throw rocks and sticks through our cell bars.’
