Tonalist odds to win this year’s Belmont Stakes and stop California Chrome from taking that elusive Triple Crown were set at 12/1.

Tonalist enjoyed an impressive win at the local prep race for the Belmont Stakes, the Peter Pan, and he did so by four lengths.  Not too shabby.  This result makes Tonalist a true threat to California Chrome.  At 12-1 odds, there is certainly value.

Both of Tonalist’s wins were at a mile-and-an-eighth.

He did draw the outside, however.

"I don't let myself worry about [the post]," said trainer Christophe Clement. "I've just got to worry about the horse. Rosario will come tomorrow and we'll discuss it, and we'll deal with it. The plus is you're in the gate last. He's a really, really big horse with a long stride, so he can basically run his own race without worrying about anybody else."

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
