Gulfstream Park's Rainbow Pick Six Pays Out $6.7 Million

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. (Associated Press) — Gulfstream Park got its Rainbow 6 record, a day early.

The track says only one player correctly picked all six winners needed to cash the bet on Sunday, a day before Gulfstream officials were expecting to pay out what would have been a massive wagering pool on the exotic ticket.

The winning payout Sunday was $6,678,939.12.

To win the Rainbow 6, which hadn't been hit since January 10, not only did a bettor need to have all six winners — but also hold the only ticket with those winners. If multiple people picked all six, the pool money kept rolling over and growing, and it all was going to be paid out Monday.

In February 2013, a bettor won Gulfstream's Rainbow 6 for $3,591,245.44. That record stood for 14 months.
