BetDSI.com has your 2014 Belmont Stakes predictions and all the latest horse racing odds.

When it comes to betting on the Belmont Stakes you normally just bet the favorite but that strategy has not been as successful in the last decade as it was early in the race's history. There was a period of 32 years when the favorite won 19 times. In the past 15 years the favorite has struggled, especially Triple Crown hopefuls as they have lost every time.

When you bet Belmont Stakes odds you have a lot of choices. You can bet the win, place and show and you can also bet exotics like the exacta, quinella, trifecta and superfecta. You can also play some pick threes and the pick four or pick six and include the Belmont Stakes.

Belmont Stakes Handicapping

The best choice is going with the horse with tactical speed. Horses that are just closers almost never win this race. You want a horse that is a stalker and is close to the pace. Even though the race is long, you don't want a closer.

The Belmont is an unpredictable race because of the distance. Horses that are bred to run a distance can oftentimes surprise horses that are favored in this race.

When you handicap the Belmont Stakes you have to remember that the race can be unpredictable. If you want to make big money then you need to play the exotics like the trifecta and superfecta. Because of the smaller field in the Belmont, it is tough to hit a big ticket in Belmont Stakes betting without playing the exotics.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
