Poker pro and Instagram sensation Dan Bilzerian has made his acting debut in the critically acclaimed “Lone Survivor”.

Bilzerian, who was named 10th most newsworthy in gambling for 2013 by Gambling911.com, filed suit against the filmmakers back in August claiming he loaned the production $1 million in exchange for a role in the film that was supposed to be no less than 8 minutes and include 80 words of dialog.  Instead his appearance was reduced to a mere one minute, if even that.

The lawsuit is seeking damages to be determined at trial, and Bilzerian believes they will be in excess of $1.2 million (the original loan amount plus a 20 percent penalty), according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film itself opened to a limited showing in the US during the Christmas holidays but is now being distributed nationwide.  “Lone Survivor” has received heavy ad exposure but is struggling at the box office with $326,685 made up to January 5.  Compare that to “Frozen”, which took in $19,575,525 during its second week.  And even “Gravity”, released approximately two months ago, brought in more money ($477,241) than “Lone Survivor”.

But the real numbers will come out after January 10.  That’s when “Lone Survivor” gets a general release, and the film definitely has plenty of buzz surrounding it.
