Ireland’s largest bookmaker, Paddy Power, debuted its latest ad during this past weekend’s Arsenal v Tottenham FA Cup game on ITV.  The so-called “Ball of Shame” advertisement takes a swipe at “lazy, fat footballers”.

More specifically, the betting firm seems to take issue with aforementioned “lazy, fat footballers” also making millions of pounds (dollars).

A Paddy Power spokesman said: “You’d expect players from the biggest league in the world to be fit, hardworking, and professional but picking up fifty grands a week doesn’t seem to be enough motivation for some!
“Our new ad pokes fun at the guys who seem more bothered about the canteen lunch menu than they do their club’s league position.”
