Mucho Macho Man competed in all three races of the 2011 Triple Crown where he finished third at the Kentucky Derby before going on to win the Sunshine Millions Classic and Suburban Handicap in 2012.  He went on to finish 2nd at last year’s Breeders Cup Classic.

The son of Macho Uno has finished in the top three in 18 of 22 starts, including seven wins.

Mucho Macho Man was conditioned by Katherine Ritvo, who overcame a serious heart condition.

“We 100 percent focus on Mucho Macho Man,” Ritvo said Sunday. “We focus on the other horses, too. But when he has a scheduled race, that’s what we do.”
