The Los Angeles Dodgers odds to win the 2013 World Series were cut to 8-1 pretty fast.  Despite their lackluster early season performance, oddsmakers have reacted quickly to their recent success.  There are those who would argue 8-1 is still a good bargain.

“The way they are playing, the Dodgers are vey much a team that can compete for a World Series title,” notes Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.  “They are currently among the hottest teams in the MLB.”

LA now had a record of 51-47 following a decimation of the Toronto Blue Jays Monday night.  The Dodgers won that game 14-5.

Los Angeles was looking to move ahead of Arizona in the NL West.

Among Monday night’s highlights, A.J. Ellis hit a two-run homer and drove in a career-best five runs, Hyun-Jin Ryu pitched 5 1/3 innings, and Los Angeles set a season high in runs with a 14-5 win over the Blue Jays.  This was the Dodgers fourth straight victory and 21st in 26 games.
