We’re back after a two day respite.  Let’s check out some MLB picks for Wednesday April 24.

BetOnline

Oakland Athletics have some good value as a +139 underdog for those of you looking to bet this game as they place Brett Anderson on the mound as a starter against Boston.  He is 5-2 when starting against Boston with an ERA of 2.70 and a WHIP of 1.140.  His team's record is 6-2 (+5.4 units) in these starts. The OVER is 5-3.

Jon Lester is 6-13 against the money line in home games over the last 2 seasons. (Team's Record) and 6-13 against the money line in home games in games played on a grass field over the last 2 seasons. (Team's Record).

Lester is 3-9 against the money line in home games after a loss over the last 2 seasons and is 5-14 against the money line vs. a team with a winning record over the last 2 seasons.

His team's record is 6-2 in these starts.  The Red Sox are 6-15 in Lesters last 21 home starts.

Oakland is 9-1 in the last ten meetings with Boston.

One thing to be careful of here is that the home team has won 7 of the last 8 in this series.  The past meeting between these two teams was the one exception over that stretch.
