BetFred finally paid British Olympian gymnast Sam Oldham’s grandma.  Too bad the check was no good!

Perhaps it was just an honest mistake but Linda Aldred tells Gambling911.com BetFred sent her and Sis two separate checks, neither of which were signed.

“BetFred say they send out plenty of cheques (so) it is no unusual for an odd one to go unsigned,” Ms. Aldred said.  “Strange that two in the same dispute happen not to have been signed.”

The British bookmaker came under intensive scrutiny last week after it initially refused to pay Aldred and her sister for bets placed on their beloved grandson Sam Oldham to win a medal at this summer’s Olympics.  The small bet, placed in honor of Sam's late grandfather, resulted in a 1000 euro win after the British team took bronze, however, BetFred insisted the wager was placed on the individual winning, not the team.  England had not won a medal in gymnastics for 100 years prior to this point.
