The largest single buy-in poker tournament, The Big One For One Drop – No Limit Hold’em is set to kick off this coming Sunday July 1, 2012 and will conclude on Tuesday.

Approximately four dozen players have already put in $1 million each to take part in this much ballyhooed World Series of Poker event that is actually stealing away some of the Main Event’s thunder.

At least $35 million in cash is guaranteed to the winner in addition to a platinum WSOP bracelet.  This will break the record for single biggest win in a tournament currently held by 2006 WSOP Main Event winner Jamie Gold.  A portion of the proceeds will go to help provide clean drinking water in poverty-stricken areas of the world.

Along with some successful businessmen, a number of well known poker pros are also taking part in The Big One For One Drop tournament including the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Johnny Chan, Jonathan Duhamel, Gus Hansen, Andy Beal, Patrik Antonious and Tom Dwan.
