Preakness 2012 Odds: Saturday Afternoon

As of 2 pm EST Saturday afternoon (race day), the 2012 Preakness odds were available online at WagerWeb.com here. 

Bodemeister was a slight favourite (pays $16 for every $10 bet) over Kentucky Derby winner I’ll Have Another (pays $22.50 for every $10 bet). 

Despite finishing second in the Derby, Bodemeister was installed as the 8-5 WagerWeb.com favorite for Saturday’s race and will break from Post 7. The colt, trained by Bob Baffert, set the pace at Churchill Downs before being overtaken in the stretch by I’ll Have Another, who won by 1 1/2 lengths.

This year’s Preakness Stakes is being viewed essentially as a two-horse race between Bodemeister and I’ll Have Another.

“I'm confident," said I'll Have Another trainer Doug O'Neill. "As long as we continue to train like our horse has trained, we won't be that far off Bodemeister.

"If anything, Bodemeister might be behind us early. I could see him chasing us. I really could."
