This is a Grade II vent since 2001 run at the Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans.  The race is open to horses age four and older. It is contested on turf over a distance of one and one-eighth miles (nine furlongs).

There is a bit of a casino theme here with Casino Host listed at 14/1 odds and Mr Vegas among the favorites at 3/1.  The technical favorite is Smart Bid.

This race pretty much concludes a busy weekend that featured a few huge long shots finishing with victories.

The Dubai World Cup winner – Monterosso – paid 25/1 odds at some online books including Sportsbook.com.

The Florida Derby was won by Take Charge Indy, which paid 5 to 1 odds or $500 for every $100 bet.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
