The Florida Derby is one of the most hotly contested races leading up to May’s Kentucky Derby.

The favorite is Union Rags at 6-5.

“I think he’s a real good horse,” Trainer Michael Matz said, “and he should improve off last time.”

Union Rags made an impressive debut as the 3-year-old enjoyed a four-length victory in the 1 1/16-mile Fountain of Youth Stakes on February 26.

“You never know how they are going to act after four months off,” Matz said. “But I thought we couldn’t have written it any better. We didn’t have to use him that hard. I don’t think it was a tough race on him. I can’t see why he wouldn’t make another move forward after that last race. But this is obviously a tougher race.”

The below odds are subject to change.  Odds will be readily available within a time frame of 24 to 48 hours leading up to the 2012 Florida Derby.  Open an online betting account here to get set to bet
