Gambling911.com has your Monmouth Race Track news.  Here we look at The Haskell Invitational betting odds for Sunday July 31, 2011.  Remember, you can always find the latest horse betting odds at Bookmaker, in business since 1986 and offering 8 percent cash back.

The winner of the Haskell receives automatic entry into the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic, held on November 5.

Preakness Stakes-G1 winner Shackleford will be the horse to watch on Sunday.  He will battle Belmont Stakes-G1 winner Ruler on Ice for the $1 million Haskell Invitational-G1.

A field of eight horses is expected for the 44th edition of the 1 1/8-mile Haskell.

“He looks as good as he can look,” Trainer Dale Romans said from Saratoga Race Course, where he has a barn at the 40-day summer meet in upstate New York. “His color is good and his weight is perfect.”

Shackleford has come a long way since opening as a 69-1 long shot in the 1 1/8-mile Florida Derby on April 3.  He was credited with setting the pace at this year’s Kentucky Derby.
