A field of 603 players turned out for this year's PokerStars UKIPT Brighton - well over double last year's field of 259. Day 3 began with 11 players; once three had been eliminated we were left with an official eight-handed final table. The eventual victor was 26 year old Southampton native Chris O'Donnell, who claimed the title after almost four hours of heads up play against eventual second place finisher, local boy Richard Hasancebi.

O'Donnell was the overall Day 1 chip leader but by the time he reached the final he was one of the shortest stacks. Nevertheless, by the end of the day, O'Donnell, who used to boast EPT Vilamoura champion Toby Lewis as his flatmate and is known to his friends as "Bobby Big Head", was victorious.
