World Series of Poker 2011 Day 1B eliminations included the likes Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, two-time gold bracelet winner Rep Porter, 2011 gold bracelet winner Andre Akkari, two-time gold bracelet winner Eric Froehlich and Justin “BoostedJ” Smith.

985 players each put up $10,000 to enter.

While organizers believe that over 6000 players are likely to attend, thus far the numbers have been significantly off after the first two days of play when comparing to last year. Several hundred fewer players took part in Day 1B play while the first day was only off by about 200.

German poker player Pius Heinz has won the World Series of Poker main event.

The 22-year-old walks away with $8.72 million in cash along with the WSOP bracelet.

"Honestly I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the money," Heinz said early Wednesday after winning the main event in a marathon session of Texas Hold 'em. "Probably my family is going to get a couple gifts."
