Did anyone notice how fast poker legend Doyle Brunson went from “I won’t be attending this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event” to “Deal me in”.
A few people seem to be crediting our beloved Jenny Woo for providing a little last minute enticement: “Come to the Punta Cana Poker Classic this November and I will make it all worth your time”.
And Doyle need not worry about being one of those “two minute men” (which is about how long he lasted at this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event). She’s had her fair share.
Doyle could have been calling our bluff. Maybe he intended to enter the main event all along. The lovable legend kicked everything off by declaring “Shuffle up and deal”.
Brunson’s participation could also be an indication that he’s ready to head on over to Punta Cana this November. Jenny will do everything in her power to ensure he makes the trip.
“Last year everyone at the resort, even those who didn’t play poker, were flocking to Doyle for his autograph and signed copies of his book,” Woo reveals.

Other notable eliminations in Day 1A of the 2011 World Series of Poker included 2004 Main Event champion Greg "Fossilman" Raymer, 2007 champion Jerry Yang.
