William Hill News of the World

The United Kingdom’s biggest bookmaker, William Hill, is the latest online advertiser to be reviewing its advertising arrangement with disgraced London tabloid News of the World.

A spokesman for William Hill simply issued this statement on Thursday: “We’re reviewing any commercial arrangements we may in place with the News of the World.”

The News of the World was accused this week of hacking into targeted individual voice mails including that of a missing schoolgirl later found dead.

The popular sensationalistic tabloid illegally targeted Milly Dowler and her family in March 2002, interfering with police inquiries into her disappearance, an investigation by the Guardian has established.

Will Hill joins a number of other advertisers reviewing their options with the publication.  They included Ford and Virgin Media.
