Introducing the Epic Poker League

Federated Sports and Gaming (FS+G) on Monday unveiled its new professional poker league name, calling it the Epic Poker League. 

The newly named Epic Poker League is an exclusive tournament series designed to serve more than 200 of the world’s top live tournament players, as determined by a set of objective, analytically rigorous qualifying criteria. In its first year, the Epic Poker League is staging four $20,000 rake-free Main Events for its members and awarding to its champion a $1,000,000 cash prize.

Through its ownership of Heartland Poker Tour (HPT), FS+G also serves poker players and fans across the United States. Built on a grass-root strategy of “Real People, Unreal Money,” HPT provides poker enthusiasts across the country with a televised tournament experience that prides itself on affordable buy-ins. HPT has hosted more than 81,500 entrants, awarded more than $28.6 million in prize money, produced more than 170 hours of television content, and staged nearly 90 events since 2005.

The league also announced the unveiling of its website at www.epicpoker.com that is scheduled to launch in full prior to the first tournament week that begins August 5^th at the Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Through its acquisition of the Heartland Poker Tour (HPT), the general public will be able to participate in the nationally televised Epic Poker League $1,500 Pro/Am event. This event, open to the public, will generate nine wild card seats into the first $20,000 rake-free Main Event.

The Palms is offering a $340 super satellite with one Pro/Am seat guaranteed every Saturday at 7 p.m. through July 31^st and a $180 super satellite with one Pro/Am seat guaranteed every Sunday at 7 p.m. though July 31^st. The casino is also offering single table satellites into these supers daily for $40 and $65.
