One of the biggest poker pros in the world, Daniel Negreanu, is starting the year off on a strong note (at least as it pertains to his play). The Canadian US transplant was in second place at this week’s PokerStars final of the Super High Roller tournament.
In the lead is Nick Schulman from the United States. He held onto 2,990,000 chips compared to Negreanu’s 2,166,000.
Humberto Brenes, the popular Costa Rican poker pro, was the 5th chip leader.
The tournament resumes on Saturday and is being filmed for ESPN. It attracted 38 players and is the best $100k tournament ever held. The five players left standing (or in this case, sitting) will cash out. A $1.5 million first place prize will be rewarded.
