St. Louis Rams

The St. Louis Rams odds to win the NFC West were listed at slightly longer than 6/1 at Bookmaker.com coming in Week 6.  Heading into the season, the Rams odds were listed at 15/1.  Winning the NFC Championship would pay 50/1 odds.  Don’t look now, but the Rams have already tied the total number of wins they had last season (3) and exit Week 6 with a 3-3 record.  That is a better record than the team they beat on Sunday, the huge early AFC West favorites San Diego Chargers (now at 2-4).

St. Louis beat San Diego by a score of 20-17 at home. James Hall, Chris Long and Larry Grant had two sacks apiece. Sam Bradford threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to fellow rookie Danario Alexander, making his NFL debut, to help build a 14-point cushion in the first half.

The NFC West, which tended to be the weakest in recent years, is suddenly looking much more competitive in 2010.

The Seattle Seahawks sit atop the division standings at 3-2 following a rare road win in Chicago.

The Seahawks came into this game 1-10 Against The Spread in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

Arizona, meanwhile, continues its “Jekyll and Hyde” routine this season despite very low expectations.  They have been holding at around .500.

The San Francisco 49ers were favorites to win this division but entered Week 6 winless. – Don Shapiro, Gambling911.com reporting.

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
