The LA Dodgers have won the 2024 World Series, beating the New York Yankees in Game 5 with a score of 7-6.

For gamblers, LA paid out $300 for every $100 bet to those who got down on them early on in the season.

Mookie Betts and Gavin Lux gave the Dodgers the 7-6 lead following sacrifice fly balls in the 8th inning.

Things looked good early on for New York.  Yankees ace Gerrit Cole (1-0, 2.82 ERA) faced Dodgers righty Jack Flaherty, who was pulled in the second.

Los Angeles have now won eight World Series titles and 24 NL pennants.
