Minors Reportedly Gambled on MA Sports Betting Sites

BOSTON, MA (Gambling911.com) - Massachusetts regulators are investigating reports that those under the age of 21 may have placed bets on state-licensed sportsbooks.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) listened Monday to third-quarter reports from sites such as Caesars Sportsbook and DraftKings, which is based out of Boston.

Commissioner Brad Hill said he was made aware of these reports by an "outside group".

“Example: I'm able to bet, my 16-year-old knows my passwords,” Hill said during Monday’s meeting. “I allow him to go in and bet, which we're being told is happening. We didn't have any proof of it, but just that it was happening.”

DraftKings has admitted to suspending 11 accounts for suspicion of underage gambling.

The commonwealth does have safety measures in place not found in most states such as the inability to open an account or place online bets using a credit card.

Belichick's Days Numbered?

The marketing team at BetOnline conducted a study to figure out which New England states want Patriots head coach Bill Belichick fired and which states want to keep him while offering 20-1 odds on his ouster

The study was formulated by extrapolating geotagged Twitter data during the last 30 days. They used an API tool to track tweets, hashtags and direct keyword phrases about keeping or firing Bill Belichick.

For example, #FireBill, #FireBelichick, #FireBillBelichick, #KeepBelichick, #KeepBill, "fire Bill Belichick," "keep Bill Belichick," etc. were used in the analysis.

More than 100,000 tweets were tracked in total across the six states.

BetOnline sees Belichick as being relatively safe, for now.  Six other head coaches have shorter odds than Belichick.
