LA Rams Odds, Betting Trends
We have your latest odds and the all-important betting trends for the LA Rams, a team that has gotten pretty hot of late and covered four straight entering their Week 16 game against the New Orleans Saints.
December 31
The Rams are a -6.5 favorite in their Week 17 game against the New York Giants.
LA (8-7) beat the New Orleans Saints in Week 16, increasing their chances of making the playoffs to 65 percent. That win also has LA holding the tiebreaker over the potential wild card teams in the NFC South.
This weekend, the Rams simply need to win and the Seahawks lose on Sunday for Los Angeles to clinch a playoff spot.
There are other ways, however. Los Angeles could still make the postseason should they lose to New York in Week 17 with a win against the 49ers and Vikings or Packers loss in Week 18, depending on who wins the Week 17 game.
LA really needs to beat the Giants to stay alive.
December 26
There are two scenarios where the Rams can advance to the post season in Week 17.
They will need to win against the Giants. LA is a -6.5 favorite in this one so the odds are in their favor for sure.
One of the two scenarios, however, is almost certain NOT to happen: A tie in the Vikings-Packers game.
More possible is the Seahawks losing to the Steelers at home. Seattle is a -3.5 favorite.
We have LA at 4.82, suggesting a bit of an overlay. In the 7/6.5 range, overlays tend to be good for the underdog but that's Against The Spread.
December 21
There are those who believe the Rams rebuilding process may finally be complete, just in time for a potential playoff run.
“Feels good to actually be playing at what we’re capable of,” Rams linebacker Ernest Jones said. “Early on, we let a lot of games slip, so it’s good to be rolling again. We can’t wait to show everyone that this young team, we’re still going to fight.”
Matthew Stafford has come on strong in the past month, throwing 12 touchdowns to one interception. He has not been picked off or lost a fumble in the past three games. His passing yards total for this game was set at 250.5.
Sean McVay’s offense has moved up to eighth in the league with a series of strong performances led by Matthew Stafford, who is on a roll with 12 TD passes and one interception in the past four games.
“I think they’ve got a lot of guys that have played in a lot of big-time games,” McVay said of the Saints. “This is a team that knows how to play winning football in the month of December, so we’ve got a great challenge.”
The line on the Saints-Rams game was set at +4 Saints. We were seeing the spread anywhere from +3.5 to +4.5 throughout the week and our number on this game is on the money at 4.52.
New Orleans beat the Rams by a touchdown last season.
