Raman is an Indian-born American politician, urban planner and progressive Democrat who is challenging incumbent Mayor Karen Bass in the November 3, 2026, Los Angeles mayoral election. The race has become one of California's most closely watched local elections.
Raman was the favorite to win but Bass is mounting a comeback and BetOnline now has Bass -135 to be re-elected.
Raman and Bass are tied with support from 40% of likely L.A. voters heading into the Nov. 3 election, according to the Berkeley IGS/L.A. Times poll.
Most of Bass’ come-from-behind surge is the result of her winning over voters who cast their ballot for Spencer Pratt in the June primary, the poll showed.
The California governor's race is another that's been in high demand among political bettors, though this one is nowhere close.
BetOnline now has odds on Xavier Becerra to winning by a 25% margin. He's priced both ways at -120.
