Michigan Wolverines starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy was coming in at 201.5 Over/Under passing yards at BetUS for Monday night's CFP Championship game versus Washington.

These were his numbers over the past five games and as you can see, four were UNDER this total.

vs Alabama: 221
@ Iowa: 147
vs Ohio State: 148
@ Maryland: 141
@ Penn State: 60

One of these two teams will endure their first defeat of the season.

McCarthy has played a critical role in getting his team to the Championship game though the magnitude of it all has yet to set in.

"Everything we've done to get here, we're continuing to do the same things. I think we keep the same approach and treat it as -- obviously it's the National Championship, but it's a football game at the end of the day and we got to go out there and execute each play, and that's how we're treating it right now."

McCarthy also expressed his fondness for Washington quarterback Michael Penix, Jr., for whom he said got his vote for the Heisman Trophy.

"The player he is, the touch he puts on the ball, the accuracy, the ball placement, just a tremendous quarterback and I have so much respect for him."

Penix Jr. comes in with a passing yards total of 295.5.
