Travers Stakes 2014 betting odds had Wicked Strong as the +150 co-favorite with Bayern at Bookmaker here.

The Travers Stakes is raced at Saratoga on 1¼ miles (10 Furlongs) of dirt.  It features a $1 million purse.  The race is limited to three-year-olds, Colts and geldings carrying 126 pounds (57 kg) and fillies carrying 123 pounds (56 kg).  This is Saratoga’s biggest race.

Wicked Strong recently won the Jim Dandy.  He will be facing a strong challenge from Bayern.

“You can’t compromise your chances by chasing (Bayern),” Wicked Strong trainer Jimmy Jerkens said. “I don’t think you can let him get too easy of a lead but at the same time you have to remember it’s a long way and he’s not the only horse in the race. You can’t ride just to beat him. You’ve got to save some for the end.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
