Social Inclusion Preakness Stakes Odds Still Pay Nearly 9-1 Odds at BetDSI.com

With nearly 18% of those betting this year’s Preakness Stakes backing Social Inclusion, it’s interesting to note that BetDSI.com was still offering odds of nearly 9-1.  Most books had cut the odds all the way down to 5-1 by Saturday morning.

This is pretty amazing considering that Social Inclusion initially opened at 3.5/1 odds.  By comparison, California Chrome was seeing 13% of the action but at a price of 3/5, which was still good considering many believe Social Inclusion is his only real competition in this race.

This colt was solid his first two starts.  His first Grade 1 race at the Wood Memorial resulted in a respectable 3nd place finish.

Social Inclusion, along with Bayern at 10-1 odds, are both known for their early speed.  Neither raced at the Kentucky Derby two weeks ago

The one drawback might be his ability to run on dirt.

The lightly raced colt is expected to set the pace at Saturday’s Preakness.
“We’ll be in good position in the early stages,” owner Ron Sanchez said. “I didn’t like being on the outside in the Wood, but the Pimlico front stretch is a little bit longer. My horse is more experienced now and he is multi-faceted. He has speed and strength.”
Sanchez added: “He’s going to finish. In the Wood, the track didn’t help him. This time the track is going to help us.”
