Odds to win the 2009 Breeders Cup have been posted by Sportsbook.com with plenty of familiar names in the running.

The favorite to win the big race is Rip Van Winkle at +125 odds and a payout potential of $125 for every $100 bet.

Rip Van Winkle (foaled 2006 in Ireland) is an Irish thoroughbred racehorse. He has won two of England's biggest mile races in 2009; the Sussex Stakes and the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes. He also ran second to the great Sea The Stars in the Eclipse Stakes. He is currently fighting for favouritism for the Breeder's Cup Classic with unbeaten mare Zenyatta.

Sea The Stars odds to win the 2009 Breeders Cup came in at +350 for a potential payout of $350 on every $100 bet.

Sea the Stars is a champion Irish Thoroughbred colt racehorse. He is best known for winning the 2,000 Guineas, the Epsom Derby, the Eclipse Stakes, - the first colt to accomplish this treble since 1989 champion Nashwan - the International Stakes, the Irish Champion Stakes, and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

Zenyatta was another of the single digit favorites.  His odds to win the 2009 Breeders Cup were listed at +400 for a payout potential of $400 on every $100 bet.
