Moreno, a pace-setting horse, qualified for this year’s BC Classic thanks to his big win in the Whitney.  This was his first Grade 1 win.

"It means [so much for] my partner and best friend, Mike [Moreno], who always believed in me from Day One and still does today,” said Moreno trainer Eric Guillot. “I'm getting emotional. This is what we do. It's why he goes to work in business. It's why I get up at 4:30 seven days a week. We never doubted each other. Ever. Not one time.  It was great. How can it not be? It's the Whitney."

Moreno’s success is well documented so his 35-1 odds certainly have some degree of value.

He won the Grade 2 Dwyer and finished in the top three in five other stake races, including the Grade 1 Travers at Saratoga a year ago.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
