Medal Count odds to win the 2014 Belmont Stakes were set at 16/1 at AceSportsbook.com.

There’s not a whole lot of value here when one considers Medal Count finished eighth at the Kentucky Derby, a full 7½ lengths behind California Chrome.

Likewise, trainer Dale Romans has never had a horse win in the Belmont Stakes.

Gambling911.com wasn’t surprised Medal Count performed so poorly at the Derby.  We noted early on that Medal Count’s success up to that point had occurred exclusively on a synthetic track.

Medal Count did have longer odds entering the Kentucky Derby: 20/1.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
